How Does Soka Gakkai International USA Operate All over the World?

Soka Gakkai, in Japanese: Hepburn: Sōka Gakkai, which means Value-Creation Society is a  Japanese Buddhist spiritual movement based on the teachings of the 13th-century Japanese priest  Nichiren as taught by its earliest three presidents Jōsei Toda, Tsunesaburō Makiguchi, and Daisaku Ikeda . It is the largest of the Japanese new religions and holds the biggest membership among  Nichiren Buddhist assemblies. ‘The Gakkai’ founds its teachings on Nichiren's understanding of the Lotus Sutra and places reciting ‘Nam Myōhō Renge Kyō’ at the hub of devotional practice. The organization upholds its goals as supporting culture, peace, and education.

The principle of the Soka Gakkai centres on understanding that all life has dignity with never-ending intrinsic prospective; this immanent ‘Buddhahood’ subsists in every individual and can be stimulated through the Buddhist practice recommended by Nichiren. Furthermore, an individual’s social actions at every instant can lead to the creation of value or Soka, (the theory of the interdependence of life). Societal change is assisted through "human revolution", a way of living on the planet that creates value. The doctrine of the Soka Gakkai obtains from Nichiren, who disseminated the Lotus Sutra as he perceived its application to the period in which he and individuals today live.

The Soka Gakkai International USA encompasses a universal network of affiliated organizations. As of 2011, the SGI accounted active national organizations in 192 territories and countries with an entirety of just about 12 million members. The SGI is autonomous of the Soka Gakkai (the domestic Japanese association), although both are headquartered in Tokyo. SGI carries out humanitarian aid projects in disaster-incapacitated areas.

National Soka Gakkai International USA or SGI organizations maneuver independently and all associations are conducted in the regional language. Many national organizations are coordinated by groups such as a men's group, a women's group, and young men's and young women's groups. National organizations usually raise their own functioning funds, although the SGI head office in Tokyo has given funding grants to smaller nationalized organizations for projects such as the construction of new buildings and land acquisition. SGI-affiliated organizations outside Japan are prohibited to engage openly in politics

The Soka Gakkai International USA (SGI) is a community-based Buddhist alliance that promotes culture, peace, and education centered on respect for the decorum of life. SGI members endorse the humanistic viewpoint of Nichiren Buddhism in 192 territories and countries around the world.

Individual SGI members endeavor to actualize their intrinsic prospective while contributing as authorized universal citizens to their local communities and acting in response to the mutual issues facing humanity. The SGI’s labors to help build a lasting society of peace are based on a commitment to nonviolence and dialogue, and the comprehension that individual contentment and the realization of an undisturbed world are inextricably correlated.

As a nongovernmental association with official ties to the United Nations, the SGI also works in partnership with other intergovernmental agencies, civil society organizations, and faith groups in the sectors of human rights education, nuclear disarmament, sustainable growth and humanitarian relief.
